The 53rd Annual ICS World Championship Chili Cook-off® will be held in Des Moines, Iowa at The District at Prairie Trail from September 6-8, 2019.

The ICS team completed extensive research on 17 possible host cities and then narrowed the best options down to 4, and then 2. Scott Toland, ICS Chili President & CEO, personally visited with city officials, visitors bureaus, business leaders and local event planners in Omaha and Des Moines.

The entire Greater Des Moines Area communities, businesses, associations, clubs and charities came together to present a proposal to host our World Championship that we couldn’t say no to. It was an extremely impressive cooperative effort on their behalf to “win” the award of our event.

Then we chose a great location, in a very close suburb to downtown Des Moines, known as The District at Prairie Trail - Ankeny, Iowa. This is a fantastic event venue to hold our 2019 WCCC. They have an ultra-accommodating team and will add a huge value to our event.

The 53rd Annual ICS World Championship Chili Cook-off® will be held September 6-8, 2019. This year, there will be public activities and entertainment Friday evening, following our “Last Chance” cook-off.
